Counseling for Families
As a family therapist, I work alongside children, teens, and adults as they encounter stress, tackle transitions, and are faced with life’s challenges.
Play Therapy
“Play therapy is to children what counseling is to adults. Play therapy utilizes play, children's natural medium of expression, to help them express their feelings more easily through toys instead of words.” (UNT Center for Play Therapy)
In play therapy, kids are provided with a space to process and integrate their experiences. Using a developmentally informed approach to counseling, children build self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and self-regulation skills to lead healthier, happier lives.
Regular parent consultation provides insight and skills for parents to better understand and support their child’s development.
Counseling for Teens
Many adolescents experience social, emotional or behavioral challenges as they develop. I offer a space for teens to be heard and navigate the ups and downs of life, including anxiety, friendship challenges and school conflict.
When working with teens, I use an eclectic approach, applying techniques from humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral and expressive arts therapy modalities.
Counseling for Adults
As a family therapist, I see the whole family. I support adults in navigating the challenges of being a human, whether in individual or couples therapy.
Telehealth
There are circumstances in which it may make sense for us to use video conferencing to facilitate therapy. I have experience in providing both play therapy and family therapy services over video conference, and am happy to discuss this option.
